I will be analysing the difference between the
adverts in a magazine article of an artist’s album and the actual artists CD
cover. The artist that I have chosen to do this comparison on is Ed Sheeran and
his album ‘+’.
The magazine advert as shown to the right is a very simple
advert that is seen in a magazine, it contains a picture of the Ed Sheeran
showing that it’s his album; the advert also contains the album name and Ed
Sheeran’s bestselling songs at the time of the album’s release, as well as a
quote referencing a review on the album by a magazine company.
The actual album cover, clearly shown on the left is almost
similar to the magazine advert as it features a picture of the artist ed Sheeran
along with his name and the small dog paw next to it which is hard to see on
the magazine advert. In addition to this, like the magazine advert the ‘+’ sign
is shown which replaces the need for a name for the album.
