Album cover-R City

This is the cover to the album in which our song features. I thought that it would be useful to us to look at what the original cover. Our song that we are currently covering is 'Locked Away' by R.City ft Adam Levine. The song itself is a true story about them when they were children. And for that reason the album cover has a significance to the song itself as well as their story behind it.

In a recent interview with Radio.com the famous duo revealed that their hit song was written about their parents when their father had went to jail and their mother still carried on supporting them and taking them to see their father.

The album title being 'What Dreams Are Made Of' show what they wanted to be when they were older, and as the image is particularly that of when they were children, it adds into the title showing that the dreams start young, as this was theirs during the time this picture of them was taken, they then turned those dreams into reality all through the use of the album cover and the link within a title.

This is why it's important for these albums to have a link between the cover and the image that goes a long with it. Sometimes the image might not even have a link between the cover and the title, as the main link would be within the songs itself. For R.City there is a direct link between their background story, their songs, the title and the album cover itself. For them their stating that a lot of their songs were based around their childhood, and a lot of these songs were written about these times as well just like they had stated in their interviews with Radio.
