Locations
Locations always have a huge impact on how many films are
run, they can make or break a scene if they aren’t set up properly in
correlation with the story. Usually song lyrics have the ability to tell a
story and if you analyse the lyrics you can identify they story they are
telling and this can give you a variety of locations to use. Punk Rock songs
such as Teenage Dirtbag do indeed tell a story and give away locations to use
for the majority of the song. Whereas Pop songs can have a wide range of
meanings throughout the music videos, these differ to how the director and how
the pop artist see them of course. Our new song is R.City Locked Away ft. Adam
Levine which looks at two people wanting to be together but not for the
materialistic things that come with a relationship.
Locations
Nathans House (Robbery) - Nathans House is used as the
robbery site, for props to be included we will need to have all black stylish
clothing , the clothing is used for them to look ordinary while the audience
will also be able to see they are the robbers. The House is a normal house in
which ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ (who is known for the notorious robberies and
killings) will rob and steal jewellery from this house, at this point the
police will come and arrest Clyde, this is where the scene will refer back to
the ‘prison’.
Mr Dallas’s office (Interview Room) – The room needs to be a
professional setting as it is playing the interview room in our film, there
needs to be paperwork behind desks as well as for Nathan (The Detective) to use
a file to act as a case file for Clyde. Clothing needs to be smart (preferably
a suit) for Nathan where as Kyle (Clyde) will need to be wearing a tracksuit so
he can look comfortable and be unprofessional. Facial Expressions are plain and
hard since they need to keep in any emotions.
Medical Room (The Cell) – The Medical Room is being used to
act as Clyde’s cell, this is where we will film several shots of Clyde in his
cell. The medical room is a small space with very little equipment other than a
bed and a sink which is why I feel it would be great to use as a cell. Costumes
would be simple clothing such as a tracksuit for Kyle as he is awaiting his
trial and to be charged so therefor he would be in the stereotypical orange
jumpsuit. There won’t be anything else in the room other than the bed for the
mise-en-scene, and his facial expressions would be distraught since he lost
bonnie, he would be pacing around the room and sitting on the bed with his head
in his hands.
Any House (Bonnie and Clyde’s home) – Bonnie and Clyde’s
house isn’t really seen inside so we only need to film them coming out the
outside, this is the only time we will see them outside another house as we can
use Nathans House for the inside since the inside of his house isn’t seen when
being robbed. There is no mise-en-scene for this as the homes need to look as
normal as possible.
