Magazine Ad and CD
Cover – Compare and Contrast
Demi Lovato – Unbroken

This advert is capable of catching audiences due to the
difference in the colours. With the contrast its more likely to appeal to more
people, especially as there’s red writing on a nude and white background, it
makes it stand out more to those looking at it.
The use of dark colours on a light background might relate
to the name of the album itself with it being called Unbroken, the use of dark
colours within her hair, on her lips and the writing means that she is bold and
strong as she shines through everything, because the background for the writing
is nude and there is a light sepia effect on the picture this might give off
the idea that she is still pure and happy while being seen as strong and bold,
therefor she is ‘Unbroken’.

The title of the album isn’t that easy to spot as It’s small
and in the corner, however the artist is the most easiest to notice as nearly
every word on the album is a different style of writing, meaning your eyes
straight away go to the writing. Under the picture of the album it appears
again the name of the album and the artist, in the same style, because it’s
repeated several times this means you focus on it more. It states on the advert
who is included in the track, this can draw other fans of those artists to the
album as its attracting a newer audience.
The album is laid out the same way as the album advert, one
of the only noticeable differences would simply be it doesn’t include who would
be on the track collaborating with the artist, or when the album would be in
stores, which according to the advert would be now as it would have been a
while since the album would have been released. All in all, the album isn’t much
different to the album advert itself.
