The video relates a lot to the lyrics, which are about people who are popular and bully people. The video tells a story, where the two singers invite their former bullies to a dinner party where they poison them and turn them to stone.
The video has a lot of closeups of the stars, and this shows that the selling point of the song is the artist rather than the song as much. This is probably at the demand of the record label because that is a popular technique used in the music industry.
Lastly there is also intertextual reference to the musical Wicked. There is a song called popular in it and it has the same tune as this song and some of the lyrics cross reference.
