Magazine Ad and CD
Cover – Compare and Contrast
Florence and the Machine – Lungs
Florence and the Machine’s album advert is exciting and new,
it uses a range of different colour’s in the advert, these all stand out to the
audience and make it unique. With all of the colours together it gives it a natural
kind of feel to it and makes it appealing to the audience’s eye.
The Album advert to symbolise the album is actually called
lungs, looks as if they have placed a wooden necklace, with wooden lungs
attached to them to give the appearance of the lungs, instead of not showing
them at all. By being surrounded by plants, these produce Oxygen to help you
breath by taking in the Carbon Dioxide, so perhaps the reason why she is laying
on a bed of flowers is to help her breath through her lungs, which is the name
of the album.
You know the name of the album as it’s the only thing that
is underlined, this makes it appeal to customers more as it’s something that isn’t
on there or repeated, it draws there attention to the actual album advert.
The album advert features the front cover of the CD for the most part as it makes it more recognisable to those who may want to buy it, it also features the date that is planned for its release (6/07/09) and the formats that you can buy this album in (CD, DELUXE CD. VINYL AND DIGITAL).
The CD Cover is exactly the same as the album advert, except
without the feature tracks, or the dates of its release, this is because they don’t
need to include this information as the album would be already out by this
time. It features the same colour scheme and images as well as the same type of
text so that the audience knows what to look out for.
